Jones Swanson Huddell are a law firm with offices in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The firm practices commercial litigation and international arbitration but has really made its name in environmental law, leading extremely high-profile cases against the oil & gas industry. The firm needed a website to feature these cases, its legal team and the deep resources they have created to support client cases.

Discovery
JSHG were very clear on one thing: this website is not to 'sell' our firm, it is to be an informative & educational experience. A common resource. Wow. OK. We were provided with a rich source of resource material, landmark cases and began designing an interface that permitted users to swiftly find filings, news coverage and case studies, particularly environmental.

Functionality
Although this project would be embraced by legal teams, legal grads and researchers, we still had to deliver a fluid user interface for casual visitors following issues directly affecting them locally, or globally - the corporate impact on the environment is galvanizing a generation. Accessibly, intuitive searching and organized categorization of the plethora of resources was essential, with a news-like feel, enhanced by striking imagery to illustrate the gravity of the cases the firm takes on.
